Position: Security Consultant / Ethical Hacker
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Key Responsibilities:
The Security Consultant will primarily work with clients to troubleshoot,
identify, and solve technical problems in their multi-protocol Enterprise
network systems. Usually he/she works as part of a team of INS network
engineers/consultants. The Security Consultant will design, implement, and
service networking technologies, platforms, and products.
Duties may include:
• Requirements analysis and design
• Component selection, acquisition and installation
• Troubleshooting
• Physical security audits, logical security audits, logical protocol and
traffic audits
• Training of client staff

Specific Technical Skills:
• Desktop/Network Operating Systems: Windows, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris, AIX,
etc.
• Security Scanners: Nessus, nmap, ISS Scanner
• Security Technology: Firewalls (PIX, CheckPoint Firewall-1, NetScreen,
etc.), IDS (Snort, Realsecure, etc.), IPS (Cisco, Symantec, etc.), VPN (RSA,
Cisco, Aventail, etc.), PKI
• Network Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, 802.11x, X.25, xDSL, OpenSSL
• WAN Technologies
• Management Systems
• Network Analysis Tools
• Physical/Data Link Layer
• Network Applications
Experience:
• Very strong security background (penetration test, C++, XML, and PERL
programming knowledge)
• Extensive technical experience in network security products,
cryptographic suites, firewalls
• Very strong knowledge of computer forensics, network exploitation,
ethical hacking, penetration testing and tool development
• Expert level experience in bypassing firewalls, evading intrusion
detection are a nice-to-have
• Demonstrable experience in UNIX and Windows administration
• Solid experience in application level attacks
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle in a large enterprise
Education:
• Business, computer, or related technical degree from an accredited
institution
• CISSP, GIAC certifications are nice to have
Personal Characteristics:
• Self starter
• Naturally inquisitive
• Ability to inspire/motivate/lead team
• Results-oriented and able to present at senior level
• Ability to focus on priorities
• Fluent English language skills, other language skills are nice-to-haves
• British or EU citizen or already possessing necessary work permits
