Position: Sales Engineer
Location: new york, New York, US
Type: Permanent F/T

The Senior System Engineer performs the following function: technical pre-sales
support for family of wireless LAN Security products.
The Senior System Engineer will work with the sales team in a pre-sales role to
develop and position solutions involving products. Presentations and
conference call discussions are a critical part of this position. During
the qualifying process, confirm that products meet the prospect’s
requirements and assist sales in technical qualification. Throughout the
proposal process, articulate and demonstrate solutions, influence
customer’s technical requirements, and position products relative to
competition.
Additional requirements and responsibilities include:
·Be responsible for all of the technical aspects of proposals
·A working knowledge of the security industry
·A working knowledge of competitive products for each of products,
·Obtain an Industry or Technical Certification (i.e. SANS, CISSP, CNE,
MCSE, SUN Professional) or equivalent approved by manager
Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Technical Requirements
The Senior SE must have in-depth knowldge of LAN Architect, Wireless Standard
(Wifi, Bluetooth, Ultrawideband, WiMax) and wireless LAN Security, as well as
Security Operating Systems: UNIX, NT, Netware or Windows 2000. The
engineer must work towards attaining knowledge of the other Operating Systems.
The Senior System Engineer must obtain a working knowledge of all LAN anad LAN
Security products. Must be able to install and demonstrate all products
with a particular focus on the product set defined by their manager. The
Senior System Engineer must obtain more than one product expertise (expertise
categories as defined by product marketing) as assigned by the manager.
Working closely with assigned sales personnel, the Senior SE is
Responsible for the technical aspects of the sales cycle and is often involved
with the client post purchase.
Knowledge of LAN Switching and Architecture essential. Experience with Cisco
Catalyst, Cabletron, Nortel, Enterasys LAN equipment strongly preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

There are two of the same jobs available in two different locations. The first
location is in Midtown Manhattan. The second location is in Reston D.C. The
ideal candidate must be able to commute on a daily basis to either location.
