Position: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, IN
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 12/22/2004
Unix System / Storage Administration and Trouble shooting.
Ticket Handling.
Server Provisioning.
Proactive and Reactive maintenance which includes patching, kernel upgrades etc.
Backup Operations and Monitoring.
The SA should be willing to work in flexible timings.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Good understanding of a UNIX-based Operating systems Production/Data Center
experience with running services in anyone of these platforms RedHat Linux,
Solaris, with exposure to Disk Storage (RAID Levels), Volume Management,
NFS-Network file systems and Tape library administration.
Comfortable with most aspects of UNIX systems administration.
eg
System installation and configuration, printing systems, file system creation,
re-sizing, performance tuning and crash trouble shooting. Server Security,
installing third-party products.
NAS-Network Attached Storage and SAN -Storage Area Network knowledge
Experience in writing scripts using Perl or shell is a plus
Knowledge on Veritas Volume Manager/Netbackup is a plus.
Knowledge of Oracle Databases and Networking is desirable.
