Sourcefire was founded in 2001 by the original creators of the open-source
Snort Intrusion Detection System (IDS), the industry's most widely deployed
IDS, that forms the foundation for the Sourcefire product suite. Today,
Sourcefire combines the Snort technology with sophisticated proprietary
technologies, professional data analysis and management tools, along with best
practices from respected security industry experts.
Sourcefire is a headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, USA. This position can
also be located in our office in Vienna, VA, USA, adjacent to the Tyson's
Corner business district.
The Security Consultants main role is to support end-users through the
successful implementation of Sourcefire products. Installation, tuning,
one-on-one and group training, report and policy development will be part of
the consultant's day-to-day tasks. In addition you may be called on to
support the sales cycle through support for RFPs, positioning services during
sales calls and possibly through speaking engagements.
The compensation for this position includes a generous base as well as bonuses
based on billable time and for sales that close with your assistance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
* 5 years minimum experience working in a technical capacity with networking
and network security products. Experience must include hands on knowledge of
IDS systems (Snort experience preferred) and experience creating and tuning IDS
and IPS policy.
* Experience consulting with outside clients and end users -- experience
integrating/implementing network security products is a must
* Extensive command line knowledge of Linux/UNIX OS
* Must have hands on experience configuring, installing and trouble shooting
Cisco routers, switches, and routing/switching protocols
* Must have hands on experience configuring, installing and trouble shooting
Checkpoint Firewall-1.
* Senior level experience with various other networking skills including
experience with Ethernet and fiber-optic networks with a firm understanding of
TCP/IP and related protocols.
* High level of proficiency with HTML is required - experience with Perl and
SQL Database are a plus
* Effective speaking and presentation skills - ability to speak in front of all
levels of staff both technical and non-technical. Previous experience
presenting to C-level executives preferred.
* Effective writing skills are a must - ability to contribute to RFP's and
write technical documentation
* Ability to work with others including clients and other consulting companies
