Position: Security Product Manager
Location: Dallas, Texas, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 12/12/2004
Base salary: $85K- $95K + equity
The Security Product Manager will be responsible for refining and developing
the client’s product offerings. The Product Manager collaborates with the
CTO, VP of Marketing, VP of Engineering and Sales, as well as with customers
and prospects. Knowledge of the security space is a must. The ability to
interpret customer requirements, assess the competitive landscape and
understand product capabilities in order to develop MRDs/PRDs is critical to
the role.
Responsibilities
• Manage the overall product roadmap and targeted releases to meet market
requirements.
• Develop and document market and product requirements for product releases
• Work closely with engineering in support of product planning, design and
development

Requirements
• Analytical skills to understand business objectives and communicate
requirements
• A solid, technical background, as well as strategic, business and
project mgmt skills
• Excellent analysis skills and ability to solicit feedback to quickly
build consensus
• Ability to work in a fast and constantly evolving environment
• Security software experience
• Strong communication skills to interact with business managers and
executives to identify strategic issues and goals
• Interpersonal skills necessary to closely work with engineering and
marketing and take a product to market
• Customer-focused, energetic attitude
Other Skills
• Knowledge of network security markets, products, and best practices
• Vertical industry experience a plus – Federal, Financial Services

• Undergraduate degree

• Entrepreneurial nature
