Our fast-growing software startup led by veteran entrepreneurs, is building out 
its enterprise sales team to handle the huge demand for our new anti-spam 
solution.

Responsibilities
•  Position anti-spam solutions and our unique approach against the 
competition. Scope ideal solution architectures by analyzing client's messaging 
architectures and advise which product or combination of products best suits 
partners'/customers' needs. 
•  Set up and conduct system presentations and demonstrations. 
•  Assist clients with system configurations, installation and product 
evaluations. 
•  Assists Sales Representatives (direct sales, channel and OEM including 
RFPs and RFIs) on-site, in the field, by phone and email on technical related 
matters. 
•  Provide sales familiarization and technical training to internal and 
external customers (including partners). 
•  Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support (on-site, phone 
and email). 
•  Support Program Management, QA, IT, Engineering, Technical 
Documentation and Technical Support cross-functional teams. 
•  Enter data in CRM and Bug tracking company systems. 
•  Write weekly and postmortem reports as required. 
•  Be prepared to travel to customer sites (25% or more).



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
•  Understanding of Anti-Spam market, the various spam blocking 
approaches, the competitive landscape, and customers' requirements. 
•  Excellent listening skills. 
•  Excellent presentation skills. 
•  Previous consulting experience desirable. 
•  Ability to think on your feet. 
•  Broad experience in the Service Provider and Enterprise sectors. 
•  Strong technical account management skills. 
•  Strong project management skills. 
•  Ability to manage complex integration projects engaging internal 
business development, sales, program management, engineering, and other SE 
resources. 
•  3+ years of SE experience selling email-related solutions, including 
complex sales success. Anti-spam solutions selling highly desirable. 
•  Thorough knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, POP, IMAP) and 
environments (carrier/consumer, corporate) is required. Knowledge of spam 
mechanisms and prevention technology is highly desirable. Knowledge or 
anti-virus systems a plus. 
•  In-depth experience with sendmail – must be able to install, 
configure and maintain sendmail (version 8.11 or higher) on Unix (Solaris), 
Linux (Red Hat required, SUSE a plus). Experience with other MTAs and groupware 
solutions (qmail, postfix, Exchange, Notes) highly desirable. 
•  Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP systems architecture with solid hands-on 
experience. Must be able to configure, deploy, and diagnose standard TCP/IP 
systems (DHCP, DNS, SSH, HTTP). Experience with SQL and databases (MySQL, 
SQLite, MS SQL, Oracle) highly desirable. C, C++, SDK, API basic knowledge a 
plus. C and Bourne shells scripts. Perl scripts a plus. 
•  Knowledge of Windows information systems, with solid hands-on 
experience highly desirable. Must be able to configure, deploy, and diagnose 
Windows clients, servers and infrastructure (DHCP, DNS, putty/SSH, Active 
Directory, IIS, Exchange/MAPI, ISA). 
•  Understanding of client-server software architecture. 
•  Ability to configure routers, switches, and firewalls a plus. 
•  Passion for proactively finding solutions to complex technical issues. 
•  Ability to train and transfer knowledge to internal and external 
customers. 
•  Outstanding customer facing skills (phone, email, in person). 
•  Attention to detail and outstanding follow up skills. 
•  Independent problem solver. 
•  A strong work ethic. 
•  Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English 
required. 
•  Additional languages including, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish or 
Portuguese a plus. 
•  Bachelor's degree required. 
•  MCSE and Linux/Unix Certifications a plus.
