Position: Application Security Engineer
Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Job Description:
Any Application Penetration Tester working for TruArx will be responsible for
helping TruArx deliver application penetration testing for various types of
applications. This position requires the following capabilities:
• Must have performed various types of application penetration tests,
without relying on the sole use of any application type scanners (Web Inspect,
App Scan)
• Must be able to assess and perform SQL injection
• Must have the ability to assess and circumvent access control mechanisms
• Must understand how to assess and perform Cross Site Scripting
• Must be able to assess and understand session handling within web based
applications
• Must have the ability to determine in an application handles inputs
properly
• Must have knowledge of and proper interpretation of system error
messages
• Must have broad understanding of many web application servers, database
communications, and authentication mechanisms.
In addition any Security Consultant working for TruArx will be responsible for
helping to further build the firm’s customer base with clients across the
United States. This includes taking the lead in:
• Leveraging the existing client relationships identifying new
opportunities.
• Delivering consulting services that have been sold to clients and help
to manage the customer relationships.
• Responsible for assessing, recommending and implementing business and
technical solutions to mitigate information security risks for our clients.
• Delivery of information risk management engagements in areas such as
information security, e-business risk management, application security and
project risk management. This will include targeting and presenting new
services to potential TruArx clients directing client needs assessments
scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:
• 2 or more years active experience performing web application
penetration testing and assessments.
• 4 or more years experience in application code development or review
• An entrepreneurial individual who is motivated to help continue to grow
TruArx in a broad marketplace.
• Strong client services orientation and is accustomed to taking an
active role in executing engagements.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Education or Certifications:
-Technical degree or equivalent experience
-CISSP / CISA recommended
