Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: Stamford, Connecticut, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 12/12/2004
This industrial company is known all over the world and is very attractive. The
people at this company are all "on the ball" and focused. Slackers
need not apply here.
This position will be reporting to the Director of IT and administratively
managing 2 people.
Experience in management is necessary.
Ideally they would like someone who comes from a programming background.
This position is hands-on and approximately 80% technical.
Experience in setting policies and procedures and the audits of them are
essential.
Here are some of the responsibilities and requirements:
(1)Set direction in processes and deliverables for enterprise security
architecture while ensuring technology security standards for the enterprise
are implemented.
(2)Ensure that “research” tools are available and used appropriately
in the enterprise.
(3)Design and develop of the architecture, planning, and security initiatives.
(4)Work with IT to facilitate and coordinate adoption of new technologies,
standards, and technology security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education, Experience and Required Skills, Including Certificates, Licenses and
Registrations:
(1)College degree preferred.
(2)Five years of security experience in an IT environment.
(3)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
(4)Strong technical ability (See below).
(5)Detail-oriented and extremely well organized.
(6)A proven ability to work swiftly, meet deadlines and manage multiple
priorities in a fast paced environment.
(7)Ability to function independently and take initiative while cooperating
effectively in a team environment.
Certifications: CISSP preferred.
(8)Other Skills Required: MS, Unix/Linux, AS400, SSL, SQL, Ethernet, TCP/IP,
Frame-Relay, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, RAID, LDAP, PBX, HTML, XML, Web
Services, DNS, Encryption, SMTP, FTP, Shell Scripting, Perl, C, Java, IPSec,
Intrusion Detection, and/or various security tools.
