Job Title: Enterprise Technical Consultant
SUMMARY
The Enterprise Technical Consultant is responsible for delivering pre- and
post-sales technical consulting services to Zone Labs customers. As a key
member of the field team, a Technical Consultant works together with Enterprise
Systems Engineers and Regional/Channel Sales Managers to identify and close
opportunities to deliver enterprise firewall solutions utilizing Zone
Labs’ Integrity product line.
Participation in pre-sales activities (sales calls, architecture/whiteboard
discussions, RFP responses, Proofs of Concept, etc.) is required to ensure
opportunity closure. Together with the Director, Professional Services as well
as other Zone Labs resources, the Regional Technical Consultant will develop
Statements of Work for customer implementations and deployments, on either a
Fixed-Price or Time-and-Materials basis as appropriate to the opportunity.
Following the sale, implementation services will be delivered and
project-managed as appropriate. Upon completion, the Technical Consultant will
be responsible for documenting and obtaining customer approval for the
engagement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will provide post-sales consulting and support to Zone Labs enterprise
customers, primarily supporting a specific geographical region (e.g. Northwest,
South Central). Specific duties may include (but are not limited to) the
following:
• Project management of Integrity pilot and production deployments
• Integrity Server installation, configuration, upgrade and deployment
• High Availability configuration (local-area network, wide-area network,
Disaster Recovery and Load-balancing options)
• Client packaging, deployment and upgrade
• Policy development and deployment
• Database installation, upgrade, and performance tuning
• Reporting module configuration and customization
• Product modification and customization, potentially including product
development activities
• Up to 70% travel is required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 BA/BS in a technical discipline Masters’ preferred.
 Extremely strong verbal and written communications skills are
a must.
 7-10 years of customer-facing Professional Services/Consulting
experience, with a minimum of five years’ experience delivering security
infrastructure solutions.
 At least three years’ experience managing enterprise
infrastructure technology projects is required.
 In-depth knowledge of Windows-and Linux/Unix-based firewall
solutions as well as the Windows 2000/XP network and client architecture is
required.
 Experience with developing “repeatable engagement”
services offerings is highly desirable.
 Experience developing and/or deploying several of the
following technologies is highly desirable:
o Intrusion detection and/or prevention systems
o Desktop and perimeter firewall solutions
o Event correlation/management consoles
o Instant Messaging security solutions
o Certificate management systems
o Network interface device driver development
o Database tuning and performance management
o Application integration through Web Services and similar technologies
