Position: Director, Information Security
Location: Santa Monica, California, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 11/25/2004
Duties
Director of Development for ids/av signature development and security incident
response. Responsible for leading global virus research, AV/IDS
definition/policy code management and content delivery of security updates,
advisories and alerts, manage and coordinate building a network of information
exchange with security research agencies outside of Symantec. Candidates are
expected to work with product solution teams to integrate protection technology
into the global security response team. manage highly complex project(s) across
cross-functional teams. facilitate cross-functional interaction among teams
coach others on project management issues and recommend effective methods to
approach issues and/or problems
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements
6+ years' demonstrated design and development experience in security industry
minimum three years' demonstrated management experience fluency in C/C++ and
other object-oriented programming languages knowledge of additional
programming languages knowledge of emerging security technologies proven
design experience relevant operating system experience, i.e., UNIX, MAC, Win
32, etc. experience working in a team environment. Ability to be
action-oriented ability to lead staff working on assigned project(s)
demonstrated knowledge of effective management methods excellent team building
skills demonstrated design and develop, Bachelor's degree in computer science
or equivalent work experience master's degree in same desirable.
