Position: Security Architect
Location: Bedford, Massachusetts, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 11/25/2004
The selected individual will work security issues for all engineering
disciplines: request for proposal, source selection, system design, software
development, system implementation, testing (all phases), configuration
management, and Certification and Accreditation testing. Individual is
responsible for imparting knowledge of National, DCID, DOD and NISPOM Security
guidance and policy to contractors and the Government acquisition office
program managers and assigned personnel. Individual will be expected to
maintain records of program activity regarding security and periodically brief
the staff on value added. In addition must be able to work with other
disciplines such as systems, networking, communications, and site based
activation to ensure that a given design meets all interoperability
requirements impacting security. This individual will also address
implementation of guards, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, operating
systems, databases, PKI, computer and physi
cal security requirements, audit reduction tools, and other security tools
into given environments to provide the required security protection for what
protection levels and levels of concern are required. Ideal candidate will be
expected to collaborate well with MITRE, contractor, and government team
members and have the ability to efficiently work more than one project
simultaneously.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

A B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems
Engineering or relevant degree with 10 years experience in a military
operational domain with exposure to system engineering disciplines. Engineering
experience includes all areas of INFOSEC, TEMPEST, Operating System (Windows
2000 and Solaris 8 & above)and database (Oracle 8 & above and SQL
Server7)secure configurations and network security implementations is critical.
Knowledge of distributed systems of support training, mission planning,
exploitation and dissemination, modeling and simulation, intelligence,
surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), air operations center (AOC),and other
Government operational systems is desired
Desired Skills consist of Security Engineering, Certification & Accreditation,
ISR, Analysis, tools, DCID, DITSCAP, DoDIIS
*Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security
investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified
information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this
position, MITRE will consider only applicants with security clearances or
applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
