Position:       Customer Service
Type:           Contract

Duties: Provides 2nd level technical support on complex issues related to 
Symantec's Enterprise Internet Security products. Maintains positive customer 
relations and responds to technical problems and inquiries. Responds to 
critical and complex technical issues escalated from end-users, junior 
engineers, resellers, corporate MIS, Sales Force, general managers, Symantec 
Security Services, via telephone, electronic services, remote management, 
on-site visits. Identifies, promotes and implements enhancements to products 
and standard tools. Designated interface to development, QA, product marketing. 
Performs team training sessions on advanced product knowledge and processes. 
Writes and reviews knowledgebase articles, reviews product documentation and 
supervises product patch testing and deployment. Assists other Specialists in 
building personal and professional skill set. Serves team as subject expert in 
one or more areas. Candidate will also be required to be on a 24x7 pager rot
 ation when needed. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements: Strong decision-making and leadership abilities. Risk assessment, 
information security development and client education. Requires superb verbal 
and written communication skills. Works with minimal supervision. Expert in 
TCP/IP, Current VPN technologies, DNS, Routing, Packet Analysis, Internet 
security concepts, Windows NT/2000/9x, Linux and Unix platforms. Thorough 
knowledge of various firewall architectures, as well as various corporate 
Server/Client applications and utilities. Expertise in configuration, system 
optimization and troubleshooting. Five years experience in enterprise technical 
support or in a network administration position supporting a variety of 
networking systems. 4-year Computer Science degree or applicable technical 
degree(s) and/or equivalent experience. Completion of technical courses and/or 
industry certifications (e.g. A+, MCSE, CNE, CCNP, CCSE, CISSP, CCNA). Symantec
