Position: Auditor
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 11/13/2004
National professional services company with over 90 year history of providing
quality service and leadership through the active involvement of their
experienced and committed professionals is seeking the best of the best IT
Audit professionals in Houston and Dallas TX as well as nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill base in both auditing and
information systems. Duties will include:
* Reviewing, documenting, evaluating and testing general controls in a wide
range of environments including mainframe, mid-range and client/server
* General control procedures address IS organization and administration
practices, system development and maintenance procedures, system software and
hardware controls, security and access controls, computer operations,
environmental protection and detection, and backup and recovery procedures.
* Reviewing, documenting, evaluating and testing application controls,
particularly automated controls on a wide range of software application
packages including PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, SAP, Lawson, Oracle Financials,
Great Plains, Solomon IV and MAS/90-500. These controls focus on application
control procedures that are designed and implemented to ensure transactions are
completely and accurately entered and properly processed by the application
system(s).
* Identifying opportunities for the use of computer assisted audit techniques
(CAATs) and programming these CAATs using audit software (i.e., IDEA, ACL,
etc.) and other available tools.
* Communicating client control strengths and weaknesses to the financial audit
engagement team and teaming with them to plan an effective and efficient
integrated audit approach.
* Planning and executing the IS audit work in conjunction with the annual
attest audits.
* Communicating findings to client personnel and developing effective solutions.
* Preparing audit reports on findings and recommendations to senior management
on findings in connection with the IS audit work performed.
* Participating in the review of internal controls as described in the
Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
* Some travel

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelors degree REQUIRED.
* 4+ years of Information Systems and Operational Auditing
* Strong background in controls and compliance including security controls
* Experience in performing both general and application control reviews
* A working knowledge of Windows, UNIX, OS400, and major accounting and ERP
application software packages
* Ability to function independently and interact effectively with operational
areas
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* A professional certification such as CPA, CISA, CISSP, CFE are preferred

assistant IS auditors in IS audit and audit integration concepts
