JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:       Manager, Information Security
Type:           Permanent F/T
Closing Date:   10/20/2004

The roles and responsibilities are split into three discrete areas:

1.      Incident Response -- Defining and owning the emergency response/react 
process and along, with other senior InfoSec and Technology staff, being prime 
first responder and coordinator of incidents.
2.      Vulnerability Response -- Defining and owning the alert (vulnerability 
and threat notification) process and being responsible for maintaining 
vulnerability/threat heat maps for management reporting.
3.      Other Responsibilities

Incident Response Requirements:

a.      Oversee Incident Response team targeted at prevention, detection, 
containment and correction of security breaches.
b.      Coordinate corporate wide response to external and internal information 
security incidents. 
c.      Coordinate both technical actions and inclusion of other groups from 
the enterprise
d.      Prepare and maintain response plans for key information security 
events, such as intrusions, viruses, defacements, and denial of service attacks
e.      Write and coordinate incident closure reports for senior management, 
including events summary, timeline, key causes, and lessons learned

Vulnerability Response Requirements:

a.      Coordinate firm-wide response to key computer vulnerabilities. 
b.      Ensure Microsoft, UNIX, and networking communities are apprised of, and 
are responding to, potential problems. 
c.      Assist in the triage of new potential vulnerabilities.


Other Responsibilities :
 
a.      Responsible for security infrastructure design and oversight of common 
security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus 
solutions, virtual private networks and others. 
b.      Conducts risk assessments and risk analysis to help the organization 
assess level of exposure for mission and business critical systems.
c.      Develop and implements solutions that will enhance security of the 
enterprise, perimeter and overall network infrastructure
d.      Manage resolution of security violations surrounding any systems or 
networks that might be compromised.
e.      Work with vendors, IT associates, and user departments to enhance 
information security. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
We are looking for an individual with experience as an information security 
engineer with the following is requirements: 

a.      Five to ten years experience in information security or related fields 
preferred.
b.      Bachelor’s and Master's degree preferred, or other professional 
qualifications. Industry certifications such as GIAC, CISSP etc. desirable but 
not necessary.
c.      Written and verbal communication skills a must  strong interpersonal 
skills essential.
d.      Frequent interaction with Senior Management 
e.      Must understand general information security operations, especially 
including intrusion detection and incident response.
f.      The role forms part of the firm’s senior InfoSec management team 
so a reasonable broad based understanding of security, technology and business 
is necessary.
g.      Demonstrated management ability and a track record of success in the 
field. Wide experience of technology platforms and a proven ability to lead 
projects and wide-ranging change initiatives. 

This position will require the incumbent to hold a SECRET collateral clearance. 
 This is mandatory for employment.  The incumbent will be able work at 
SecureInfo pending clearance approval.  If the clearance is denied, we will not 
be able to permit him/her to continue with the SecureInfo team.  This position 
will be required to be on call on a rotating schedule.
