Position: Security Consultant
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 10/22/2004
Symantec is looking for a seasoned anti-virus consultant to be the on-site
manager for an AV conversion project. Directs and/or leads complex consulting
projects. The Principal Security Consultant level is distinguished from other
levels by the overall project management knowledge and skills and ability to
address broad design issues from a strategic perspective. (Principal
Consultants should be well known within their industry.) Evaluate factors and
exercises critical independent judgment within broadly defined practices and
policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining
results. Actively identify clients and collaborate with Sales Team through
final invoicing. Provide critical input and/or lead proposal development on
large, or unique projects. Manage multiple projects, complex in nature,
developing customized deliverables for clients. Exercises independent judgment
in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May ac
t as a team lead on large consulting projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
6-8 years demonstrated experience in a consulting environment, preferably with
experience working on a client site for extended periods of time. Expert
knowledge of security system architectures, security solutions, and internet
protocols and applications. Experience configuring and implementing various
versions of anti-virus software solutions (Symantec, McAfee, etc.). Excellent
customer interface skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent Project management skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent
experience. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CISA desirable.
