--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Security Engineer Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 10/21/2004 Job Responsibilities: • Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting connectivity between Primary and Secondary IDS systems which have fail-over capabilities. • Responsible for testing, updating, and upgrading ISS databases and ISS application server components. • Responsible for database maintenance, online system backups, database query analysis, and automated report development. • Coordinates with customer to determine when appropriate security remediation based on analysis should be introduced (filtering, signature creation, policy updates). • Responsible for analyzing and qualifying IDS events that have been escalated from security analysts and security administrators for determination of adherence to security policy. • Responsible for troubleshooting network components and IDS infrastructure. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Current Secret Clearance Required Skills: • 2-5 years experience in the network security industry or related industry (OS familiarity, TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN protocols, network monitoring tools, etc.). • 3-5 years experience with ISS Intrusion Detection System. • Must be able to successfully attain Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification or Global Information Assurance certification within 3 months of being hired.
