--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Jr. Security Analyst Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 10/21/2004 Job Description: The candidates’ primary responsibility will be to monitor the status of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and to perform in-depth analysis of IDS security events. The candidate will be required to intimately understand the Customer’s IT and Network infrastructure and analyze events in the context of the Customer’s environment for the purpose of identification, assessment, and remediation of security events and to provide leadership on filtering/removing false positive events. The candidate will validate attacks against customer’s systems and assess the impact. If countermeasures are required, the candidate is responsible for making the appropriate recommendation and working with the customer in implementing the recommendation. This position also requires a candidate that possesses strong customer service skills and an ability to work directly with assigned customers to assist them as necessary. A portion of your time must be spent keeping up with current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
