--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Auditor Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 10/16/2004 Job Title: IT Audit Senior Principle Functions: - Plan, oversee and perform internal audits of the technical, application and general computer control environments for all IS platforms. - Auditing functions will be done in accordance with the generally accepted Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, published by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the General Standards for Information Systems Auditing published by The IS Audit and Control Foundation (ISACA), Specific Responsibilities: - Plan, supervise and perform the internal audit within a team environment, including: + Assess reliability of developed IT applications and related data processing functions. + Review and evaluate efficiency and adequacy of accounting, financial and operating procedures established for IT control purposes. - Develop appropriate audit programs for testing the controls in each IT platform, required for each audit assignment, with manager approval. - Performs special project work under a manager's instruction/supervision. - Budgets, controls, accumulates, and accurately reports time and expenses incurred on the assigned audits or projects. - Recommends cost effective and reasonable IT controls. Ascertains the extent company assets are accounted for and safeguarded from losses of all kinds. - Assists internal audit associates to effectively achieve IT audit objectives included in operational and financial audit assignments. - Develops and documents Computer Assisted Automated Techniques (CAAT) procedures for automating various IT test procedures and performing routine operational/financial audit tasks as needed. - Participates as a consultant on IT development projects ensuring compliance with MIS policies and procedures during each phase. - Performs post-implementation reviews for new or modified application systems and IT technology. Develop or revise audit procedures for post-implementation assignments. - Assists managers with the development of IT auditors or any other staff. - Ensures the quality and thoroughness of the work of assigned staff auditors by monitoring their activities and reviewing their working papers and memos. - Represents Audit and is a contact for division management on a daily basis. - Prepares the audit report with detailed recommendations based on the materiality and relativity of audit results, adequacy of audit documentation, and auditee response (if known), subject to manager approval. - Effectively communicates audit findings via closing conference with appropriate management personnel. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Internal Audit Skills: The IT Audit Senior will have responsibility for performing all assignments in compliance with our procedures. These procedures will include, but not be limited to, the following: - Document business process flows and identify system control weaknesses/points within the process. - Determine the appropriate scope and procedures for each assignment and obtain management approval. - Perform fieldwork and complete audit documentation in accordance with the above mentioned guidelines and audit timeframes. - Ensure objectives for pre-audit and exit conference meetings are met. Education, Experience and Other Requirements: - Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or management information systems related field. - Three to six years IT/audit experience. - CISA preferred. - Have strong knowledge of computer system platforms, terminology, and technology. - Ambitious, goal-oriented, and outgoing with strong interpersonal skills. - Willingness to travel (50%).
