Position: Security Consultant
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 10/16/2004
IT Security and controls review and related advisory services
IT Governance review and provision of related advice
The consultant will be required to support PwC assurance assignments, providing
deep technical skills.
Requirements
Expert knowledge/experience of:
IT Security and controls review and consulting
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) / IT Service management
CobiT - Control Objectives for IT
BS7799 / security policy design and implementation
Information Systems and Network security
The role requires a mix of deep hands on IT technical experience in the areas
listed above as well as exceptional communication and consulting skills
Responsibilities
Review of security and controls for large organisations and provision of
related advice
Provision of advice on the implementation of IT governance frameworks e.g.
CobiT, ITIL, BS7799 etc
Provision of specialist technical input to PwC project work
Identifying information protection goals and objectives within the scope of a
strategic plan. Contribution to IT security / IT governance strategy
Assessing the adequacy and co-ordinating the implementation, of specific
information security controls for new systems and services.
The Individual
2 years+ experience in a security or service management orientated Information
Technology environment
2 years+ proven successful infrastructure design and analysis experience
Experience in a professional/consulting environment
Ability to analyse and assemble IT procedures etc. in complex,technically
demanding environment
Able to produce progress reports, project schedules and test plans
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff, in
both technical and business terms
Capable of reviewing comprehensive response, recovery and security procedures
etc
Possess strong analytical abilities.
Be technically and numerically conversant in order to make effective use of
appropriate software, tools and facilities within the infrastructure.
Ability to interpret information / facts and determine requirements pertaining
to particular security problems or lapses
Capability to sell with a positive and go get attitude
Experience in a Telco would be desirable but not essential
