Job description:
Role: Senior Cisco Network Security Engineer
Located in Washington state.
Client's current network security environment uses Cisco Checkpoint. Their VPN
uses Cisco 3000 concentrators. This environment will be replaced over the next
6-12 mos with an Altheon solution on the same Cisco hardware.
Client has over 3 million data subscribers to date.
The Checkpoint environment has 50 tunnels built, and in production
currently. They've been building 1 new tunnel per month. This pace will
continue for at least another 1-3 mos.
The security side of this role will be primarily focused on maintaining the
Checkpoint environment(troubleshooting problems, building new tunnels,
maintaining existing tunnels, etc.)
This IS NOT a mgt role. It's a highly technical role requiring a hands-on
person. This consultant will need to be certified at least in Checkpoint for
Unix NOT NT. Ideally, this consultant should be certified in Altheon as well.
Provided this person is certified in Alteon, they'll participate in
developing, and executing the migration plan from Checkpoint, to Altheon.
This will not be the consultants primary role though. this person is being
brought in to backfill existing staff, so that existing staff can work on the
new Altheon environment.
In addition, the ideal engineer will also have very good experience in DNS.
There is quite a bit of DNS caching to be done...troubleshooting,
re-architecting, and mgt of the existing DNS environment.
