Position: Security Researcher
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 09/25/2004
Our client, a leading security products company, is looking for a Protocol
Researcher. In this role you will be called on to receive protocols, download
products containing these protocols, test them to establish an operational
baseline, run packet sniffing software to examine traffic patterns, run
experiments to figure out which packets will disable the protocol if blocked
and then develop a packet signature.
You will also be required to build a database with the signature to block the
application containing the protocol (you'll principally be working with general
protocols, IM attachments, P2P, and streaming media protocols).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Extensive knowledge/experience with TCP/IP.
Experience with LibPCAP (portable framework for low level network monitoring).
2+ years experience with TCPDUMP, Ethereal or other packet capture technologies.
Experience with IDS Technologies (SNORT, IIS, Nmap, etc).
Knowledge of firewalls.
Knowledge of C/C++, VB, VBScript, and JavaScript
Knowledge of HTML, DNS
