Position: Security System Administrator
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 09/24/2004
Consultancy requires a Security Analyst to conduct specialised penetration
testing duties. You will manage and execute duties in relation to Signalfire
Security Support Service (Platform Patch and Updates Notification and advisory
Service). Act in a pre-sales technical capacity for related areas of Security
Service Offerings. Minimum of 3 years experience of security penetration
testing services, good operational knowledge of OS Platforms such as Solaris/
Linux/ Windows NT-2003 etc. Able to offer proven methodology to Security
Assessment i.e. Pen Testing Techniques, Brute Force Attacks, Evasive Detection
etc. Strong Knowledge of both industry general and business specific system
vulnerabilities and exploits. General understanding and at least two specific
areas of commercial security designs and typical construction demonstrating
most effective approach to exploits, weaknesses relating to such platforms
(particular interest: Financial Markets and Government Organisations e.g.
Market Makers/Traders, Police Forces/Health Service). In depth understanding
and experience of various Pen Testing tools such as NMAP, Nessus, PhoneSweep
and other Unix Free Tools. Knowledge of ISO17799 or specific working knowledge
of information security and codes of practice. Security Testing Skills
associated to Application and Web technology, to include knowledge of common
programming techniques and associated attacks i.e. CGI Scripts, SQL injection,
data injection, Java. Security Testing Skills associated to Firewalls, AAA
Servers, Proxy Servers, and Ethernet Switches. Development Skills required such
as Unix / Perl / C / Shell Scripting. Understanding of operation, design of at
least two of the following security platforms IDS, single/dual tiered Firewall
platforms, Strong Authentication such as AAA, TACACS+, IPSEC/SSL based VPN's.
