Position: Security Architect
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 09/21/2004
Location: Rancho Cordova (near Sacramento)
LOCAL CANDIDATES ARE PREFERRED
No relocation is provided for this position
Will be responsible for managing the objectives of the ISSO (Information
Security Systems Office) in the areas of risk management and risk mitigation,
vision, strategy, planning, research and benchmarking, evangelizing the
security mission, developing and implementing security training and awareness
programs, business and functional interface and crisis management.
This position reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer.
Responsible for the communication and outreach of the CISO, other internal
organizations, customers and suppliers in all areas referenced to include
cross-functional teams, program teams, forums and security committees and
boards. Will provide guidance and leadership on the state of security through
presentations and updates to the frameworks, directives, reference models,
guidelines and procedures. Coordinate the development and approval of the IT
security strategic plan, vision, annual goals and objectives, plans and
architectures. Assist the CISO with enterprise-wide presentations and
communications and assist in evangelizing the above. Assist / lead risk
assessments and continue to enhance corporate risk portfolio and governance
model. Work within the enterprise to develop security and BCP funding models.
Will assist the ISSO in project management and tracking delivery to goals and
objectives. Will be the liaison to all other IT organizations and enterprise

s and officials and will provide/lead in the development and implementation
planning of communication plans and security training and awareness
programs/materials.
Required Skills/Experience:
====================
Bachelors degree in related field MBA degree is highly desired
Professional certification in an appropriate security-related information
technology discipline is required (CISSP, CISM, etc.)
10+ years in information security (with increasing levels of responsibility and
breadth)
Exp in system engineering and program management team-oriented with positive
attitude possess technical resource mgmt skills
Effective communicator possess conflict resolution skills and basic management
skills (funding, estimation, budgeting, negotiating, etc.) Self-Driven
MUST be able to deal with report statistical information in a concise manner.
Able to resolve issues associated with resolving problems associated with
network design, deployment and management
Position requires travel and ability to adapt to flexible work hours
MUST be able to work comfortably in a virtual environment, across times zones
and geographic locations.
Experienced with Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery
Exp with risk management methodologies and modeling, crisis management, defense
in dept and layered security architecture and models
ISSO 17799, SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMM), COBIT, NIST, etc.
Federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the protection of and
access to information and IT systems
