You should check for pendrives with U3 capabilities. It's exactly what you're looking for.

The Traveller option does not work on Linux.
Than again, I doubt that there is a multi-OS option available.

I usually use TrueCrypt whenever I want to encrypt something on a pendrive, but the problem is that you need to have TrueCrypt installed on any computer that you want to access the encrypted files on.
Does anyone know of a free portable encryption solution?
