Hi John, Do you want a client that will help you connect to networks or something that will show you networks? I'm a bit confused. If the Atheros' client is not working with Vista then you might be best to contact Toshiba. I imagine you have an Atheros card in the laptop. You may have to turn the Vista client off first. If the card is working then the driver is working. If you're trying to wardrive or similar then kismet for windows might be better at giving you info. I don't actually know if either it or NetStumbler runs on Vista, to be honest. What does their website say? If Vista has the wireless zero config feature(I don't use Vista), then turning this off may allow NetStumbler to work-I always had to do that with my XP machine. -----Original Message----- From: listbounce@securityfocus.com [mailto:listbounce@securityfocus.com] On Behalf Of John Ballard Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2008 2:33 AM To: security-basics@securityfocus.com Subject: Vista Wireless Client Has anybody found a good wireless client for Vista? I'm only able to use microsoft's generic wireless client to connect to networks at the time being. I'm running a Toshiba tablet with Vista Ultimate and would like to have a wireless client that at least will give me more information about wireless networks in the area. Netstumbler doesn't seem to work and I would use Atheros's client but they have supplied anything but the driver for vista. Also need a client that would work with the new 802.1x WEP encryption. Secure W2 is the best bet right now. John
