Have you searched the archives for this list (http://www.securityfocus.com/archive/105) regarding certifications? There are many threads that express a diversity of opinions. Experience is always looked upon more favorably than a certification. However, everyone must start somewhere and if you trying to focus on which ones might benefit you, I point you to the archives because *lots* of people have already contributed their thoughts and you can learn a whole lot very quickly without starting a new thread.
