From my point of view, having the necessary experiences helps. Having that
with the necessary Cert if sure a winner. I haf seen people with MCSA that does not even know how to enable a scheduled task in XP and not knowing how to reset a switch password with a CCNA certification ... Basically some people are ready brain DUMP !!! -----Original Message----- From: listbounce@securityfocus.com [mailto:listbounce@securityfocus.com] On Behalf Of andrews@rbacomm.com Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2007 4:18 AM To: security-basics@securityfocus.com Subject: Re: RE: Value of certifications Keep in mind that a move could be in anyone's future, given the modern work climate. I would encourage the original poster to skip the Security+ and go for the CISSP. That is what I am doing. (I am also going to probably attempt the GIAC/GSEC as well, since I will be taking that SANS course this summer. :) Brad Quoting fskrc1@hotmail.com:
If you are in a consulting position and not looking to move neither security+ or CISSP serves much purpose.
