<Gripe> Do you use cisco for a vpn connection on your end users laptops? If so there is a conflict with Checkpoint Integrity and Cisco VPN version 4.x. The conflict has caused numerous troubles for our end users and many headaches for me. Also, when the chekpoint integrity client is not shutdown properly (due to Sleep mode/suspend, lockup, or holding down the power button) it will revert back to its original state (no policy) and block most network connections. In other words I wouldn't recommend Checkpoint Integrity. </Gripe> -----Original Message----- From: listbounce@securityfocus.com [mailto:listbounce@securityfocus.com] On Behalf Of lists.canuck.eh@gmail.com Sent: Friday, January 19, 2007 11:10 AM To: security-basics@securityfocus.com Subject: Centrally managed desktop firewall/endpoint security I've been looking for a centrally managed desktop firewall/endpoint security solution to tighten our notebook security policy but I am having a hard time finding any good reviews/group tests. So far I have come across the following: InfoExpress CyberArmor eEye Blink professional Check Point Integrity The problem is that I'm at a business with less then 30 notebooks so the per computer price is extremely high with the central server requirements (although I think Blink comes with the management software included). What products have other people used and found effective? I'm really looking for something with a solid firewall for inbound traffic and program control for outbound.
