There are an array of options available to do this -- IF your
network connection goes by way of an Ethernet interface, since
most hook into supported Ethernet drivers to capture network
traffic. So if you're on DSL or cablemodem, you have good
choices (Ethereal is free); if you're on dial-up or Wi-Fi, your
choices are much more limited.

Subject: Home PC Networking

Hi,
I need some advice regarding my home PCs.
I'd like to be able to to do two things:
  1. I'd like to be able to monitor all traffic into and out
of my PCs; IP/Domain:Port TCP/UDP both into and out of the PC
- If I can get the name of the calling process/application
too, that would be cool.
  2. I'd like a list of the (incomming/out going) ports that
should be blocked on my firewall. It is a general home PC
used for browsing, gaming, MSN etc.

Thanks for any help,

ys
