Hello ! I understand what you mean - and I had some small experience in that front.What you have not told us is what Operating System you want to use. anyways:"Altiris SVS" Virtual Layer will do for Windows XP. and for those running Linux (2.6.9+ kernels)"UnionFS" is the best. google for those products to see what they are. And if we compare:UnionFS is much more powerful, but has no GUI, and therefore needssome Linux skills before get started. In addition UnionFS isFree/Open-Source, while Altiris SVS costs few bucks, but there istime-limited demo. best wishes, Alexey. 19.04.2006.
