Subject: Re: www.readnotify.com

: : What if someone has their client to send E-Mails as only text
: : format, and not HTML? Does www.readnotify.com change the format of an
: : E-Mail?
:
: yes. the format is change to text/html

Then wouldn't that result in the "breaking" of a PGP (or similar)
digital
signature? If so then couldn't one argue that www.readnotify.com altered
the MSG? Which technically they would have, by changing the format of the
MSG before sending it on it's way.

:
: :
: : Would closing the preview pane, and then selecting the MSG, and
: : saving it as a text document defeat their tracking? I mean if you've
: : closed the
: : preview pane, and then save the E-Mail as a text document you haven't
: : opened the E-Mail itself, right?
:
: that depends on your mail reader. does closing the pane really mean
: that the mail reader will not parse HTML?? I don't know. It depends on
: how the mail reader was implemented.

I'm not sure how O2k, or OE parses HTML, does anyone here know? Or
where
to find the settings in either O2k, or OE to change how they handle HTML
documents? Or to display all incoming E-Mails as plain text?
