There are two programs that I am familiar with that will do this. They are full disk encryption options. The one that I currently use is called PointSec. http://www.pointsec.com The only problem I can share with them is this: at this time they are only taking new accounts with a minimum of 100 licenses. I think that this is absolute BS, but I am not employed by them and they aren't my rules. The other program that I tested in the past, @ that time had bugs - but those have been fixed, is called SecureDoc. It is by a company called WinMagic. http://www.winmagic.com If I had to do things all over again, I would go with WinMagic. Also, coming up in the next few months, WinMagic will also have a Linux version of SecureDoc released. Either is easy to use on a single user setup. I know that PointSec is also able to be used on multiple setups with a base installation configuration file that is easy to setup. I am not sure if SecureDoc does that at this time. SecureDoc does encrypt CD's and floppies though through it's program. Hope this helps, lemme know if you need any further information. Rob. Hi, I am looking for a solution to encrypt the hard drives which contain confidential info. Ideally, this tool would be transparent and usable on all the drives on the computer/laptop (from c: to z:). Ideally it would be easy to set up and manage, not a problem if the tool is not free. Any experience on this? What algorithm(s) does it use? Another option would be to use external encrypted drives to store the info. What are the options here? I am looking for some background information, to short-list all the options. Thanks for the help! Cesc Unclassified
