Pros ---- - Can filter traffic between local machines at reasonable cost - Can associate inappropriate outbound traffic with process, not just source address (which might be spoofed in some cases) Cons ---- - Can be (mis)managed by user - Can cause support load by blocking "valid but unknown" traffic
