find it... I would like to have it again too.
Update on the eBooks package I have: Two authors (out of 9) have
written back requesting their books NOT be included. I'm gonna give
the other 7 till the start of next week to respond. If they don't, I
will just remove them until I hear otherwise. Unfortunately that
knocks the eBook package down to around 7-9 (can't remember exactly).
Still good stuff though. =)

Something to think about.
I also ran across an amazingly small program similar to LC/Jphn. It
was freeware, Windows only, and a single EXE. (No install or
anything.) It could be run from a floppy disk or CD and worked like a
charm. It was quite fast, faster then either John or LC in fact.
Unfortunately the system I had it on died and I lost the information
on the HDD. (Even after numerous recovery attemps with multiple
programs, OSes, and even the freezer trick.) I can't remember the
name, but I do remember it was someone who had a handful of little
self-executing EXEs for Windows security and such. Not an American
site either, but it was in English. I hope to find the program again -
will look around and see. Will of course share it when found.

As a matter of interest, which is better for cracking Windows password
files? LC4, LC5 or John? Do any one of these do a better job with say
dictionary attacks versuses attacks on strong passwords?
