Yes, I'm sure the line "Protocol 2" has been properly
added to ssh_config file.

I believe changing ssh.c is the solution for me.

Are you sure it was properly added to your
ssh_config? Are you using the 
correct ssh configuration file? 

Or edit ssh.c to get rid of the -1 option and
hardcode options.protocol = 
SSH_PROTO_2;
