| Subject: | Detecting port forwarding on server-side. |

Hello, I am using openssh 4.5_p1.
Is there a way to detect on an sshd server when a client has requested port forwarding?
The only way I know of is to increase logging to verbose and grep for lines like the following:
sshd[16236]: debug1: Local forwarding listening on 127.0.0.1 port 10000.
Is there a better way?
I realize that sending the control sequence ~# on the client side does this. However, I am interested in similar functionality on the server side.
Thanks.
