Re: scp to pipe

$ ssh myuser@mycomp "cat ~/myfile.tar.gz" | tar -xz

If you really want to use "scp" then:
$ mkfifo myfifo
$ tar -xz < myfifo&
$ scp myuser@mycomp:~/myfile.tar.gz myfifo
$ rm myfifo

"scp", "rcp" and "cp" all work the same.  They copy a file from one
filesystem to
another filesystem.
