Update on the penetration testing directory project

Subject: Update on the penetration testing directory project
Date: Sat, 5 Apr 2008 14:43:02 -0700 (PDT)
Hi list,

Quick update. I wanted to thank everyone who's been
helping out with the pentest directory project
(www.penetrationtests.com) during these 5-6 months in
terms of submitting new links, providing feedback,
suggesting categories, etc.

As of today, we already have 230 different
pentest-related links manually organized in the
following categories:

Blogs related to security (Company blogs, Personal
blogs, Group blogs)

Business links (Scoping, SoWs, Invoicing,
Deliverables)

Security Companies (1-99 employees, 100-500, 501-more,
unknown size)

Security Documents/papers (Database servers, webapp
testing, secure programming)

Penetration testing Frameworks (for a price, free)

Mailing lists (Penetration testing)

Methodology (Links related to methodology definitions)

-
http://www.penetrationtests.com/Security-conferences/
Security conferences

Security standards (PCI, SOx Act)

Tools & Software (hundreds organized in sub
categories)

Websites (Project sites, Proxys)

Yes, we are missing links and yes, we are missing
categories. That's where we need all the help we can
get. If you own/work at a security company not listed,
please take a minute to submit it. Also the case for
tool creators, document writers, bloggers, etc.
Everything needs to be related to pentesting, I get
dozens of requests per week for submitting non-related
sites (viagra tools?) and have to manually disapprove
them.

As I mentioned in my previous e-mail from November,
you can submit a link by clicking on "Submit Link" or
going to the following Url:
http://www.penetrationtests.com/submit.php

The nature of the directory script currently in use
requires a reciprocal link but I've disabled it for
eternity, so don't panic if you click on "Submit Link"
and find it as another input box. However, any
backlinking to promote the directory is useful and
greatly appreciated.

Any ideas, feedback/suggestions are extremely welcome.
Feel free to drop me an e-mail.

Best regards,
-AV
