Terry,

Yahi's are good for directional wireless signal such as shooting through
narrow spots (such as an elevator). They are not meant for war driving. I
perform wireless audits often and it really depends on the scope of the audit,
but do you really need a powerful wireless directional antenna for the
wardrive? In my case, I don't care if there is a weak signal 10 miles away
from me from some home user's access point. I also would have to spend a great
deal of time just finding the signals due to directionality.

On the other hand, if you are doing a pen test into the wireless
infrastructure and you want to do it so no one knows about it, the investment
into a yagi may be worthwhile. It depends on the circumstance, what you are
authorized to perform, and what the low handing fruit is.

Good luck,

Matt

hi guys hope your weekend is good so far. Does anyone have any
experience with teh Yagi Antenna booster ? They claim it can boost up
to 10 miles. Just wonder if anyone has used it while wardriving. Maybe
there's a better antenna you'd recommend ?

Thanks in advance !
