Yeah. You need the key. (I assume you are attacking the algorithm not a specific instance) The algorithm is the wrong attack here. I am unaware of any weakness in AES that would allow someone to crack it in a relatively quick manner (and by that I mean within your lifetime). You will have more luck trying to get the key, do a sidechannel analysis or compromise the original system and snag the plain text (assuming it still exists). If you are looking to compromise a crypto system using AES, you have to go after the weakest link in the implementation. The end user. Or a weakness in the system implementing AES (perhaps the coders were sloppy and cache the key in the clear in memory). But as far as trying to brute force AES, you are out of luck. Especially with that large of a keyspace. Phil On 8/14/07, Kush Wadhwa <kushwadhwa@gmail.com> wrote:
Hello All, Is there any way to decrypt a file which is AES-256 encrypted? I used many of the tools but I was not able to decrypt it. Please help me if any one knows how to decrypt it Regards, Kush Wadhwa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This list is sponsored by: Cenzic Need to secure your web apps NOW?
