The answer to your question is "Yes", try to find LIRE opensource software
it performes this job for you, Checkpoint, Netscreen, Sendmail PIX log
parser and generate automaticaly report in many forms XLS, PDF,DOC
Take a look, i took one week to get it operationnal on production
environment.
I use it 2 years before to extract some valuable report
