Under the scenario of retrieving the contents of a stolen laptop, I have been tasked with extracting the contents of the client-side caching directory under Windows. The organization is syncing files between the user's network drive and the 'My Documents' folder on the local device. In offline mode, the files are cached in a binary format. I can grab the directory (C:\WINNT\CSC\, as an example) by mounting the volume under BackTrack but from there I am coming up short. Is there a way to read the binary data contained in this directory to surmise the contents of the offline files? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
