hi all,
i need to do a security report (pen-test and features lists) about
IronPort antispam product for our customer. Searching by google I can
not find much information. Only interesting paper that I found, it is
from IronPort's website:
http://www.ironport.com/pdf/ironport_wp_asyncos.pdf.
somebody knows which software for MTA, anti-spam engine, etc IronPort
use?. I find that antivirus is sophos.
Also, I need to confirm the following points (from IronPort's website):
- AsyncOS kernel supports more than 10,000 simultaneous connections.
Is this right? Linux and BSD kernels doesn't support this "feature"?
- "IronPort also developed a high performance file system and an I/O
driven scheduler optimized for the asynchronous nature of messaging". Is
this high performance filesystem based on UFS2, ext3, reiser, ... etc or
a new type of filesystem?
- "For example, 1000 threads,each with a 1MB stack, would consume 1 GB
of RAM! AsyncOS Stackless Threads are unique because they are allocated
memory only as needed, with no dedicated stack. This efïcient memory
utilization strategy not only enables an order of magnitude increase in
concurrency, but it leaves more RAM available for caching ïle system
data and eliminates the risk of security holes and system crashes from
stack overïows.". Really??
