Most linux OS's I've dealt with have supported my Orinoco Gold card, look for lucent or IBM rebranded cards, which are typically Orinoco cards. My current card is a Lucent, model PC24E-H-FC. I also have an Orinoco A/B/G card which works as well, but does not feature the external antenna jack. Orinoco type connectors for your antenna may be a bit harder to find, but thanks to the joys of e-bay you can find something without breaking the bank.
