I have a precision M60, it comes with gigabit ethernet, wireless, nice HDD
(40Gb), a huge screen and a Nvidia Quadro FX Go700 card the support multiple
monitors. Currently having it working only with Windows XP SP2 and running
MS Office 2003 smoothly. It has almost the same architecture than the D600
so I believe it can run Linux without troubles.

I have a dell xps laptop and it runs great, i have the uxga screen too, not
sure which screen your goin for. the only thing i dont care about for dell
is they only offered ATI cards and no nvidia's, but that might be different
for the model your looking for. as for the wireless, i have a slot for it
but i didn't buy their card cuz i didnt know if it'd be supported or not, so
i've bought a dlink card seperate and have had no troubles. overall,
compatibility with drivers or hardware including acpi. btw im running

so it needs to be wireless capable, but for my purposes being able to
attach an external antennae for extra range isn't that important.
What I'm looking at right now is the Dell Latitude D600. I've
supported and purchased a lot of Dell desktop computers and have been
very happy with them and I have run Knoppix-STD on a Dell laptop and
everything ran well.
The D600 has the ports I'd like.
Any thoughts or recommendations? Any capibilities that you think I've
missed?
