I have faced some weird problems with retina too. I stoped one scan before it can complete (abort option) and since then retina became unusable. As soon as I start Retina on my test machine now it show in the status bar *Processing Records ####* and it goes on processing records.. i dunno how many max records it will process but i have seen it going @ 18xx records and after that the program becomes non-responding and i have to kill the task. I don;t seem to like this new 5.x version... i loved 4.x series. Though in any of the cases it did not harm the local machine just the box it was running from.
