Hi,
The situation is I haven't installed the SP2 yet on my machine still it is
crashing.
I don't think that problem is because of WinPCap as NMAP is still running
great and even real time display info shows me that ethereal is still
capturing the packet even after ethereal crashes.
May be problem is while parsing the packets or rendering the data.

Winpcap dont works with Windows XP with SP2.
I'd have to disagree with you... I have Ethereal installed, and it
works fine. I'm not sure what my versions are, but they're probably
the newest ones. Regardless, it works even after I've manually
disabled raw socket access [outside of whatever sp2 does]. Perhaps I'm
just lucky, but I've yet to have any trouble with it crashing.
