If Nessus can't log into your server with some sort of credentials (Domain,
SSH, .etc), then local tests won't be performed. If you still want to perform
local checks, you need to find a way to enable remote access for Nessus.

However, many appliance vendors will remove a lot of functionality in their
products, so even if Nessus can log in, you might not find yourself with
a regular operating system, and may also not have a path to actually fix
anything found.

We run a client based application, and that testing has gone very well

I would like to run server tests to make sure there are no vulnerabilities -
but we are unable to connect to our device (which makes sense since we are
not configured as a server).

I would still like to make sure there are no openings... It appears Nessus
3.2.1 will not run server tests unless it can connect to an IP / port.

Can someone kindly confirm this? If so, I guess we cannot run server
tests...
