The PPTP issue in combination with win should be the reason then.
I'll switch to Linux :-).

Which port scanners have you configured your scan to use? One possible  
explanation could be that Nessus is configured to use the Ping port  
scanner while your router is blocking ICMP packets so Nessus flags the  
target as dead. Another is that you're trying to scan over a PPP or  
PPTP connection, which is not currently supported in Nessus Windows.
