Hi all,
I have few questions about Nessus, I would really appreciate
response to these queries.
1. What are max number oh hosts that can be scanned during one single scan
using Nessus 3.2?
2. Once the scan completes, Nessus 3.2 client automatically tries to open the
current_report.xml file in internet explorer. Is there any option/setting to
disable it?
Thankz,
Kamlesh Patel.
Hi Kamlesh, I think if we had a competition for the maximum number of hosts scanned during one scan, you'd see more than a few entries with folks who have scanned more than a class B. We have customers that regularly scan 1000s of computers with one Nessus scanner. If your report is opening up in Internet Explorer, you are likely still running the original windows client that shipped with Nessus 3.0.x. If you look for a program named 'Nessus Client' you will be able to use this instead. This client can let you see the results of a scan in progress and does not render reports in HTML by default. Instead it uses a native display in Windows.
